I ASKED THE LORD…
For weeks and months and years I asked,
“Lord what is it you want me to do?
What mighty task, what special path
Am I to tread for you?”
No answer came…was I ignored?
Did my Saviour care?
Where was He when I wanted Him
Shouldn’t He be there?
The Lord just waited patiently
For all my works to end,
And then He started guiding me
My hurting heart to mend
He wanted me to do nothing
To cease from all my ways
And just allow His Holy Spirit
To direct me all my days
The bible says ‘His burden is easy
And this we know is right
But if we carry our own burdens
We cannot access His might
We cannot be led, we cannot act
in His great master plan
if we are too busy, ‘doing our thing’
to please our fellow man
“Relax!” said the Lord, just let Me work
My mighty plan to do
You can do nothing
because I will work through you.
Just wait for my spirit then follow Him
He’ll tell you what to do
He’ll be your guide your perfect friend
In everything you do…
