Granny Carter’s Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies
1/2 cup butter
2 cups sugar
1/2 cup milk
4 TBLS cocoa
1/2 cup peanut butter [I use creamy like Granny]
2 tsp vanilla
3-3 1/2 cups dry quick cook oat meal
In a 4 qt sauce pan mix first 4 ingredients. Bring to a rolling boil and hold for 1 min.
Add peanut butter and stir until melted. Add vanilla and oats. Drop by tablespoons onto waxed paper and let cool. [I am rolling some into 1 inch balls which can be sprinkled with confectioners sugar, dipped in white chocolate, etc. You can also shape the ball around a cherry or nut. Use your imagination and have fun.]
