I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.
– Romans 16:17 (NIV)
One of the ways that you can discern between a godly and a false teacher is through the results of their teaching. Does their teaching cause divisions and cause you to question the historic faith, or does it build you up with other believers into Christ? The allure of something new and exciting is strong, but never confuse that excitement for the life that is brought out from the Scripture.
