It is amazing that the apostle Paul saw the promise to Abraham as a promise of the Messiah, yet the New Testament writers saw Jesus throughout the Old Testament. The water that came from the rock that Moses struck was Christ; the prophet Joel foretold the Spirit being poured out through Christ; the Psalms were written to describe Christ’s sufferings. It seems that Jesus is present from Genesis forward. He truly is the Alpha and Omega.
