Appointed and Approved
Have you ever felt useless? Have you ever wondered what good you are doing or why you are here? Well, I have good news for you. Before the world was even created, God appointed you. He called you. He approves of you and… He glorifies you. Just think. The God who created the universe and every living thing, loves you that much.
We once were useless but God, in His great mercy, saved us. He brought us back to life with Christ and has given us a position in heaven with Him. It was God’s kindness that saved us, not because we were good or because we have done any great work. Our salvation was God’s gift to us. He appointed us for good works that He has prepared for us to do. He called us out of darkness into the light, so the world can see His rich kindness and great love. He approves of us because we walk the paths of righteousness. Because we are filled with the Holy Spirit, we have Christ’s glory within us, radiating His light to a dark world.
Charles Stanley said , “There is one key to the Christian life. That is ‘Christ in us ‘” In other words, it’s not about us . It’s all about Him. As a wise friend said to me, “I just have to step aside and let Him work.”
The Son of God set an example of being appointed, approved, called and glorified. Jesus is faithful to God who appointed Him… (Heb. 3:3.) Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you (Acts 2:22) Jesus fulfilled His calling, dying on the cross for sinful man. (Luke 18:32/33) Jesus said, “The Son of man is now glorified…”(John 13:13)
As we surrender to God, He will fill us with His Spirit and we will become more like Jesus, His son. Let’s shift our focus from ourselves and center it on God. Our raison d’etre is to praise and follow Him. As we do, our lives will be full, rich and purposeful.
